- Hull City 2
- Salam (2)
- Birmingham City 2
- Iyamu, Mulders
The Under-18s picked up their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at Bishop Burton College on Saturday.
In what was a blistering start to the U18 Professional Development League encounter, Charlie Andrew made a fine save to prevent the visitors from opening the scoring before the young Tigers found themselves two goals to the good inside the opening 15 minutes.
Ahmed Salam made it 1-0 when he fired in from close-range after the Birmingham keeper failed to keep hold of Tyler Hamilton’s low shot in wet conditions.
And the same player doubled the Tigers’ lead shortly after latching onto Hamilton’s precise through ball before rounding the keeper and slotting home into an empty net.
However, Nosa Iyamu pulled a goal back for the Blues just before half-time when he stabbed the ball home at the near post.
And the Tigers then suffered late disappointment as the visitors claimed a share of the spoils with just two minutes of normal time remaining courtesy of stunning 25-yard strike from Ollie Mulders.
